This Privacy Policy describes how Blipr (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our content creation service (“the Service”). By using Blipr, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Video URLs: YouTube video URLs you submit for processing.
  • Clip Preferences: Settings such as desired clip duration, number of clips, and output dimensions.
  • Content Feedback: Approval or rejection decisions you make on generated clips.

2.2 Information from Third-Party Services

  • TikTok Account Information: When you connect your TikTok account via TikTok Login Kit, we receive your account display name and basic profile information necessary to publish content on your behalf.
  • TikTok Authorization Tokens: OAuth tokens that allow Blipr to post content to your TikTok account.
  • YouTube Video Metadata: Publicly available metadata (title, duration) for videos you submit.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

  • Video Transcription Data: Audio from submitted videos is transcribed using the OpenAI Whisper API to identify compelling segments for clips.
  • Generated Clip Metadata: Information about the clips generated, including timestamps, scores, and processing status.
  • Usage Logs: Basic service usage information for debugging and improving the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process your submitted videos and generate short-form clips.
  • Transcribe video audio to identify optimal clip segments.
  • Publish approved clips to your TikTok account on your behalf.
  • Improve clip selection and generation quality based on your feedback.
  • Maintain and improve the Service.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We share your information with the following third-party services solely for the purpose of providing the Service:

  • OpenAI: Audio data is sent to OpenAI’s Whisper API for transcription. This data is subject to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
  • TikTok: Video content and metadata are sent to TikTok via the Content Posting API when you approve clips for publishing. This is subject to TikTok’s Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube: We access publicly available video content via YouTube for processing. This is subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. TikTok Data Usage

In connection with our use of TikTok’s APIs:

  • We access your TikTok account information solely to publish content you have approved.
  • TikTok OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only for authorized posting actions.
  • We do not access your TikTok direct messages, followers list, or any data beyond what is required for content posting.
  • You may revoke Blipr’s access to your TikTok account at any time through your TikTok account settings under “Manage app permissions.”
  • Upon revocation, we will cease using your TikTok authorization tokens.

6. Data Retention

  • Video and clip files are stored temporarily during processing and are available for your review. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Transcription data is retained for the duration of the processing job.
  • TikTok authorization tokens are retained until you revoke access or request deletion.
  • Usage logs are retained for a reasonable period for debugging and service improvement purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:

  • API keys and credentials are stored in environment variables, not in source code.
  • TikTok OAuth tokens are handled securely and transmitted over encrypted connections.
  • Access to the Service is restricted to authorized users.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your personal information by contacting us.
  • Revoke TikTok authorization at any time through your TikTok account settings.
  • Opt out of any non-essential data collection.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
